AJESH launches mass restoration in the Yabassi KBA (Key Biodiversity Area), planting native species such as Garcinia Cola, Afrostyrax, Acacia, etc.
The target is to plant over 13000 trees across the the KBA and other identified deforested landscapes. The initiative was kickstarted by the Nkam MINFOF and MINEPDED Divisional delegates and conducted by the local communities with support from AJESH and partners
This trees planting program is aimed at addressing the crucial deforestation and forest degradation mapped by AJESH and WRI-GFW within the KBA. So the program is to combat climate change effects and enhancing biodiversity conservation in the landscape.
